So the first viva is on Wednesday. I've done the majority of the presentation, three quarters of the way through the gantt chart and should hopefully have enough to talk about for a fair while. The gantt chart has made me realise how little time there is, so i'm starting to worry a bit about if i'm going to be able to get everything done. I'm going to do some more research into reading materials that will help give me ideas for my project how ever i am a tad worried about what to talk about as i think a lot of what has to be done will come about as part of the learning process as appose to things i should know when going into this project.

I'm putting a very rough song idea up at www.myspace.com/mushimushisushitime i wapped it together today, so it's pretty sloppy, mainly improvised parts but it's the kind of style i'm going to do if anyone wants a gander, or indeed if anyone has any ideas cheers bossssssss

Started putting down some roughs today, very rough but useful for knowing how everything sounds when layered, things are sounds a tad to busy at the moment so i'm going to simplify the tracks a bit.

where am i up to ?

I now have five songs with all the orders sorted out and most of the lyrics done as well as having another 4 nearly finished just in need of sorting out the orders. In the last few months I've managed to blag a substantial amount of sound proofing and i'm going to use it to make some kind of sound booth, so i'll be updating with news on this as well as pictures. Over the next month  i am going to record some roughs and work out how to best allocate my time. 

Beginning seems like a good title

Hello, my name is Emyr and for my 3rd year at university i have been asked to write a blog following the development of my music tech major project.
I am not yet completely decided upon what i will be doing for my major project however my main idea at the moment seems to be centered around the writing, recording and promotion of a predominantly folk album also including other influences. I aim to play all the parts my self main instruments will be including Guitar, Violin, Bass, Piano as well as some kind of percussion however i am yet to decide weather or not to go towards rock or acoustic and this will impact what kind of percussion i use may it be drums or something else.
